And so she knows all the quarterbacks in the league most of the running backs defensive players that we’re starting to reach nobut anyway we’re going to be doing what we did a year ago on this show when we looked at all the quarterbacks that are on the seahawks upcoming schedule we’re going to be ranking them and kind of throwing a little bit of a curveball into this year’s festivities we’re going to be putting seattle’s expected quarterbacks into the mix where do they compare against the rest of the quarterbacks that are on the seahawks schedule but before we get to that for our lead story here on lockdown seahawks speaking of quarterbacks baker mayfield previously with the cleveland browns my mother being from indiana pays closer attention to the browns than what many people do and baker mayfield had a solid but not great first four seasons in the nfl former number one overall pick for the browns had a pretty disappointing year last year was really good in 2020 led cleveland to the playoffs there’s been a lot of speculation that he was going to end up with the seattle seahawks it turns out that will not be the case all of that speculation can officially shut up because he is going to the carolina panthers in exchange for a conditional fifth round pick and they’re going to be paying around 5 million of his 18 and a half million so cleveland is going to be eating most of that money that’s what everybody expected seattle was going to have to do to make this straight happen and apparently the seahawks were not interested in even doing that based on what I was told they certainly did not want to give up a fifth round pick ultimately that makes it look like he really was not a quarterback of great interest for them. But I didn’t know you but thiswhat this is all about is this our corporation decided there’s a void here we can fill it. And I know I want the offensive line to be betterbut we still need to see that this team can get after the pass or two and if his strength on strength like we saw last year for example with cheeto and jamar chase then that could be a good omen as well the other thing will be continuing to look at those matchups at cornerback and wide receiver the cam taylor brit ex uh not experiment. And I’m gonna mention his name one more time before I answer your question I think that was the knock on Laker because he has so much around him righthe’s like why can’t you operate his offense Why Can’t This offense be more productive now you interject a guy that’s going to be playing for his legacy his livelihood his reputation all these different things on top of him already solidifying and showing the entire league that he could play at a high level again he had a great year when they were four and 12 and we can debate that if you want I know uh Jay you’re you’re really big on that. So uh but new era was uh temporarily their uh orchard park with buffalo and they paid five billion first energy was paying six million to cleveland and nissan was paying six and a half million down in nashville tennessee for the titans and mercedesbenz pays 12 million per year to the atlanta falcons for a stadium that was brand new and didn’t need to be built to begin with so they’re the ones that are famous for doing the the good deals though I would I do like how the falcons I think this is them they um all their stadium food is like reasonably priced like you know we’re all used to paying like 11 bucks for a beer or nine dollars for um a burger theirs is all like regular price like five bucks for a beer six for like stuff you would expect to pay not like these astronomical prices so my hat’s off to them for that because I don’t know how they’re doing that um salary cap wise uh because they um just built that placeso. He’s the dude who’s making sure the schedule runs as but as well as it can anyways that 425 slot’s the highest rated slot so they have eight games essentially that are prime time eight out of 17 almost half that are basically prime time and the three that aren’t prime time are going to get higher ratings anywayand so that part of it is uh is really cool because it’s a chance you you want the bengals to to completely take over and all these fans to jump on the bandwagon even more than last year let them win some of those let them go five and three or six and two in those eight games a lot of people are going to be repping. No without a doubtand you have a question from broader or broder here excuse me i’m really hoping our run game takes a step up with our uh hopefully improved offensive line breeze and michael carter might take some pressure off of zach I agree with this. But you know a lot of knowledge of the game of football um real good understanding for scheme protections as we started out i’m excited to have him in the room and then uh and josh as of late that’s a huge addition uh i’ve heard nothing but great things about josh as far as a teammate and the way he acts in the room I know he’s extremely intelligent the smarter guys in the room are always always great to have so we’re excited to get to work with these guys every off season you feel good about the players that you’re bringing in the players that you bring back ultimately you are making bets based on skill set performance and you know makeup and put a lot of work into itand you know you’re optimistic that the decisions that you make are gonna turn out well in the fall
